Bubba Watson wins the Masters

photo Bubba Watson hits out of a bunker on the seventh hole during the fourth round of the Masters golf tournament Sunday, April 13, 2014, in Augusta, Ga.

Bubba Watson became the 17th player to win more than one Masters with his second green jacket in three years.

Watson finished with an 8-under 280, three shots ahead of Masters rookies Jordan Blixt and Jordan Spieth.

UPDATE VI

Bubba Watson closed his front nine with back-to-back birdies as Jordan Spieth closed his side with bogey-bogey.

Watson is 8 under and carried a two shot lead over Spieth as they headed to the back nine, where, as the saying goes, the tournament is decided on Sunday.

Spieth is at 6 under and two clear of Jonas Blixt as the leaders started to separate.

UPDATE V

The duel between Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson has not disappointed at the Masters.

Each carded a birdie on the difficult par 3s on the front side and Spieth holds a one-shot lead at 7 under. The final group has put a little distance between themselves and the rest of the field as Watson is at 6 under and two shots ahead of Matt Kuchar, who four-putted No. 4.

Jimmy Walker and Rory McIlroy are 3 under and still on the course. Stewart Cink carded a 68 and Joost Luiten posted a 67 for the low round of Sunday so far.

UPDATE, IV

The leaders are off the tee - and off line. But fear not, this is the Masters where shots are made and legends forged.

Jordan Spieth missed the fairway of No. 1 left and punched an impressive shot hole high on the green. Co-leader Bubba Watson found the bunker right of the fairway and almost holed his approach.

All the players are now in action, and nine players are within two shots, including Rickie Fowler, who made birdie on No. 1 and three-putted for bogey from 6 feet on 2.

UPDATE, III

Masters fan-favorite Fred Couples opened his final round with a birdie 3 on the first hole and a birdie 4 on the second to move to 3 under for the tournament. Couples is two back of third-round co-leaders Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth who will tee off in 20 minutes.

There are 11 players within three shots of the lead right now.

UPDATE, II

The course is filling up with players and we are roughly 70 minutes from third-round co-leaders Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth walking to the first tee.

The patrons have filled the grounds - although a final-round Masters badge could be found for $400 today, about a quarter of the price of last year's final-round ticket when Tiger Woods was in the mix.

The Sunday magic started early with a quick start for former champ Bernhard Langer, who went birdie-eagle on the first two holes to get to even par. Langer gave one back on No. 3 and is 1 over and tied for 16th.

UPDATE, I

There are a few golfers on the course, but most of the players on Augusta National right now are the opening act for what could be an 18-hole masterpiece that is Sunday of the Masters.

Of the early birds out this morning, Stephen Gallacher is 2 under through 6 to get to 6 over for the tournament.

The six players within two shots of the lead will tee off after 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Here's the front-runners heading into today's final round:

5 under - Justin Spieth and Bubba Watson, teeing off at 2:40 p.m.

4 under - Matt Kuchar and Jonas Blixt, teeing off at 2:30 p.m.

3 under - Miguel Angel Jimenez and Rickie Fowler, teeing off at 2:20 p.m.
