An investigation into a herd of neglected cattle has resulted in multiple charges against a Jackson County, Ala., man, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Tracy Stephen Skinner, 48, of Pisgah, was arrested Friday on 21 counts of cruelty to animals, nine counts of failure to bury dead livestock and three counts of allowing dead animals to contaminate waterways, according to the release from Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen.
The sheriff's animal control and criminal investigations units worked together on the investigation, Harnen said.
Skinner was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on a $16,000 bond.
Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting at 2300 Cannon Ave. that left a man wounded in the leg.
The call came in at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release. Police found the victim being treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Police did not release any information on the motive or suspect.
