MOBILE, Ala. - Heavy rainfall is causing flood problems for Gulf Coast communities in Alabama, which is dealing with severe weather for a third straight day.

The National Weather Service says portions of southwest Alabama that have seen up to 11 inches of rain already this week could get another 2 to 4 inches today. Mobile and Baldwin counties have been placed under a flash flood warning until 9 a.m. Residents were being urged to stay off roads Wednesday morning except in emergencies.

Severe storms were blamed for three deaths in Alabama earlier this week - one in Tuscaloosa and two others in Limestone County. Forecasters say most of the state should be spared from more severe weather today.
