Penn State coach James Franklin answers a reporter's question at a news conference in State College, Pa.Reached on his cellphone Tuesday afternoon, James Franklin didn't want to hear about the latest appearance of his name in court filings related to the criminal rape case against four former Vanderbilt University players.
"I'm not interested in talking," the former head football coach said repeatedly, declining an offer to hear what the records state.
Lawyers for defendant Brandon Vandenburg wrote in a court filing that Franklin and former director of performance enhancement Dwight Galt contacted the victim of a June 23 rape. The woman told police she was at a medical examination four days after the incident when Franklin and Galt told her they "cared about her because she assisted them with recruiting."
