Two arrested in LaFayette drug investigation, $125,000 seized

Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force agents seized $125,000 in cash and arrested two people Tuesday in a lengthy investigation linked to an international narcotic distribution network.

Walter Mac Waters Jr., 42, and Lacey Siobhan Waters, 32, both of 601 Culberson Ave., LaFayette, Ga., were charged Tuesday in the case and are being held at the Walker County Jail.

Officers with the task force, the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspector served four warrants that resulted in the seizure of several thousand doses of various types of illegal narcotic prescription drugs and illegal steroids, according to Patrick D. Doyle, commander of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.

The investigation is ongoing, Doyle said.
