Chattanooga Airport has the second cheapest average air fares among the state's major commercial airports, according to a website that tracks ticket prices.
The airport's fares in June averaged $372, or No. 43 nationally, said cheapflights.com
Only Memphis International Airport had a less expensive average fare - $342, or No. 27, according to the website.
Chattanooga Airport's average ticket price was less than Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which was No. 73.
Terry Hart, the airport's chief executive, said that Chattanooga boardings are increasing and airlines are making fares more competitive.
"We're seeing more people originating [traveling] from Chattanooga," he said.
Charleston International in South Carolina had the cheapest average fares at $191, the website said.
