Beginning Friday, the Walker County Sheriff's Office will be cracking down on impaired drivers.
The Sheriff's Department will be implementing Operation Zero Tolerance through the end of the year, according to a news release from Sheriff Steve Wilson
The department plans to step up efforts to target impaired drivers through concentrated patrols and sobriety checkpoints, and will be working closely with other local law enforcement to protect everyone from impaired drivers, according to the release.
"This is a campaign of zero tolerance to remind motorists that if they get caught driving impaired, they will be arrested and they will go to jail," the release states.
