DALTON, Ga. A jury convicted a 21-year-old man of murdering a security guard outside a local bar last March.

Needing less than 30 minutes to deliberate, the jury convicted Orlando Ramirez this evening of seven charges, including murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault. Ramirez will return to Whitfield County Superior Court on Jan. 30 to determine his sentence.
During the four-day trial, Conasauga Judicial Circuit District Attorney Bert Poston provided evidence showing that Ramirez brought a gun to Las Delicias Bar on March 23. When a security guard stopped him, Ramirez pulled out the gun.
Ramirez and the guard struggled for the weapon before Ramirez shot him twice, though neither shot killed the victim.
A second security guard -- Bruno Rodriguez -- charged at Ramirez, and Ramirez shot him twice too, security footage showed. Paramedics say they found Rodriguez dead at the scene minutes later.
