Winter takes another shot at Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The winter that wouldn't quit is having another go at Tennessee, with forecasts calling for snow, sleet and road difficulties.

Roads are expected to be icy and snow-packed in some areas, creating dangerous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service says southern Middle Tennessee is under a winter storm warning and expecting anywhere from 2 to 8 inches of snow mixed with sleet before tapering off tonight. Higher levels will be seen east of Interstate 65.

The weather service says significant snowfall is possible over much of East Tennessee by early Thursday, with accumulations ranging from 3 to 5 inches. The area was also under a winter storm warning.

West Tennessee had a winter weather advisory in effect until Wednesday evening and was expecting 1 to 4 inches of snow with trace amounts of sleet up to a quarter-inch.
