White County Grand Jury indicts two in Feb. 9 Dollar General murder

An investigation by three Tennessee law enforcement agencies has resulted in the indictment of two Sparta, Tenn., residents on murder and aggravated assault charges by the White County grand jury.

Brian Logan, also known as Allyn Hodges, 36, and Miranda Brown, 26, each were indicted Thursday on one count of felony murder and one count of aggravated robbery as a result of the investigation into the homicide of Jill Farley, 36, of Cookeville, Tenn., in the parking lot of the Dollar General on Robert Mathews Highway in Cookeville.

According to a news release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Farley drove to the Dollar General on Feb. 9 and waited in the parking lot for her passenger, who had gone into the store. A clerk saw a struggle in Farley's car, and the clerk and the passenger went outside to investigate.

They found Farley "severely injured," the release stated. The clerk called 911 and reported that he had seen a male and female get into a dark-colored vehicle and quickly leave the parking lot.

Farley died at Cookeville Regional Hospital, the release stated.

Both defendants were served with the charges while being held at the White County Jail on drug charges.
