Update at 1 p.m.: One eastbound lane of traffic has been opened.

Chattanooga police say it could be close to an hour before eastbound lanes of travel are restored on Interstate 24 near Browns Ferry Road. One lane has been opened for traffic, said Traffic Sgt. Gary Martin.

Lanes of travel for westbound traffic are now open.

One driver was entrapped in a vehicle while another driver was ejected in a traffic crash just before 11 a.m. Both drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles.

The extent of the injuries and the condition of the drivers have not been released.

A driver heading westbound crossed over a guard rail and concrete divider before striking a vehicle heading east, Martin said.
