CUMMING, Ga. - Forsyth County sheriff's officials say a man has been charged with child cruelty and reckless conduct in the death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son.
Sheriff's spokesman Doug Rainwater says an autopsy on the boy who was found dead Tuesday will determine whether additional charges will be filed against 25-year-old Christopher Truett.
Authorities have said the man was babysitting the child when he was found unconscious at his family's home in Cumming. Investigators have said Truett fled the house after emergency responders were called and was taken into custody in a nearby wooded area. Authorities haven't released the boy's cause of death.
Truett is being held without bond in the Forsyth County Detention Center. Court clerk's officials are unsure of whether Truett has an attorney.
