Two Alabama hunters killed in accidental shootings

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. - Authorities say hunting accidents claimed the lives of two men in Alabama over the weekend.

Investigators say a man hunting in the Pineywood area of Tallapoosa County was taken to the Russell Medical Center after he sustained a gunshot wound Sunday morning. Alexander City police Capt. Mario Hodge told AL.com the man has been identified as 50-year-old James Raymond Landers. Hodge says Landers wasn't wearing orange reflective clothing when another hunter accidentally shot him.

A second fatality was reported in the Hopewell area of Blount County. Coroner's officials say 37-year-old Adam Scott Jordan was shot by another member of the three-person group he was hunting with. Sheriff Loyd Arrington says that shooting also appears to be accidental.
