VALLEY GRANDE, Ala. - Prosecutors in central Alabama say two people accused of hanging a puppy at a house in Valley Grande have been charged with animal cruelty.
Fourth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Michael Jackson said today that 26-year-old Caroline Dunnam and 23-year-old Andrew Parrish are each accused of hanging a small mixed breed puppy by its neck from the ceiling.
In an incident report, investigators said they received a tip about the dog after a photo of the puppy dangling by its neck from the ceiling was posted on Facebook.
Prosecutors say Dunnam and Parrish surrendered to authorities on Jan. 10 at the Dallas County jail and are free on $500 bond each.
The puppy has been turned over to animal control and it's unclear if Dunnam and Parrish have attorneys.
