SMYRNA, Tenn. - A Middle Tennessee woman has taken out a billboard ad in an effort to get more information about her husband's death last month.
The electronic billboard along Interstate 24 in Davidson County offers a $15,000 reward for information in the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Jackie Warpoole. He was found dead in Smyrna on Dec. 15 by a passing motorist.
Angela Warpoole told the Daily News Journal that Lamar Advertising donated the first 30 days that she uses the billboard.
"I was amazed," Warpoole said. "It was more than I ever asked for ... It's nice to know there are still good people out there. It's nice to know there are people out there who are praying for us."
Warpoole says the lack of clues in her husband's death has been frustrating, but she's hoping the billboard along with the reward changes that.
"We are just reaching out to the public for help," said Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective Lt. Todd Sparks. "We are meeting daily and continuing to dig through every lead that comes in, whether it is a phone call or information."
Warpoole and family friend Keith Harris said they want to know how Warpoole ended up dead.
"Somebody has to know something. Somebody has to come forward," Harris said.
