ATLANTA - Police are trying to learn why three people were shot and a fourth person stabbed at a metro Atlanta motel.
DeKalb County police say the commotion began when at least two women began fighting outside a motel near Glenwood Avenue and Interstate 285 in DeKalb County Monday night.
Police say one woman pulled a knife and cut another woman in the face. Police tell CBS Atlanta that some men then pulled guns and opened fire, and a bullet struck one woman in the hand.
"Apparently some men got involved, when the female drove off, there was some gunfire exchanged," DeKalb County police Lt. Dane Cunningham tells WSB-TV.
A few minutes later, police were called to a room inside the motel where one man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and another with a bullet to the back.
All victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the two wounded men were in critical condition. The injured women were in stable condition.
