The new, two-lane exit from northbound U.S. Highway 27 to Signal Mountain Road will be opened to traffic by Sunday evening, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
TDOT spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn said Thursday the exit has been reshaped, with a T-intersection and traffic light at the bottom so drivers can turn left toward Dayton Boulevard or right toward Signal Mountain.
She said TDOT workers will begin moving barriers and checking signage early Sunday and the shift should be complete by 7 p.m.
Once the new ramp is open, the temporary ramp north of the Signal Mountain Road bridge will close permanently, Flynn said.
