Woman killed after falling out of her truck and being run over

A woman was killed after she fell out of her truck and was run over while going down a driveway, according to a news release from the Dalton Police Department.

55-year-old Barbara Jean Eoff of 304 Leon Circle in Chatsworth, Ga., was pronounced dead after being taken to Hamilton Medical Center.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday at 721 Lance Street in Dalton.

Eoff was leaving the residence alone and apparently attempted to back her 1999 Chevy Silverado truck down the steep driveway, the release stated. There were no witnesses to the accident, but the homeowner came outside after hearing a crash and saw Eoff lying on the ground injured and the truck resting against trees in a field down the street.

Eoff's husband told investigators it was not uncommon for her to roll down a window and look out while backing.

Investigators are still waiting for results from an autopsy and a toxicology report, the release said. The incident remains under investigation.
