A DeKalb County, Ala., man has been arrested after a short vehicle chase and scuffle and charged in connection with a home invasion and two stabbings in Cherokee County, a news release states.
Officers were looking for Fort Payne resident Jeremy Don Williams, 34, when a Drug Task Force agent spotted him in a vehicle, DeKalb Sheriff Jimmy Harris states in the release.
Officers pursued Williams down County Road 116 until he slid into a ditch at the County Road 85 intersection. After a brief scuffle in which Williams kicked an officer, he was taken into custody, authorities said.
Williams was booked at the DeKalb County Detention Center on charges of attempting to elude and resisting arrest and transferred to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he was booked on charges of burglary and second-degree assault, the release states.
