Southbound Jenkins Road closing for two weeks due to construction

Southbound Jenkins Road between Igou Gap Road and Goodwin Road has been temporarily closed due to traffic circle construction.

The final phase of the construction at Igou Gap Road and Jenkins Road begins today, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Transportation Department.

All other legs of the traffic circle will be open.

The posted detour route for southbound Jenkins Road will be west on Goodwin Road to southbound Gunbarrel Road, then east on Igou Gap Road, back to Jenkins Road.

The final phase of the project is scheduled for two weeks and will reopen by Tuesday, August 12.
