Hamilton County Commissioners today heard and immediately passed a Payment In Lieu of Tax agreement for an automotive supplier at Enterprise South Industrial Park.

Plastic Omnium Auto Exteriors, a French automotive supplier, has pledged to build a $70 million project on 27 acres at the park to supply Volkswagen and other automotive suppliers in the Southeast with plastic parts.

The PILOT agreement sets out a plan to create 300 jobs, with average salaries of $43,500. The company would also pay $2 million over 10 years in school taxes and more than $700,000 to county general taxes.

There was no agenda item on the PILOT, and commissioners originally planned to vote on the measure next week. But Commission Chairman Fred Skillern suggested that the body voted today, and no commissioner opposed.
