Company plans 55 new jobs in Chattanooga

Chattanooga-based facility management company ERMC has bought another business, which plans to shift its headquarters to the city and create 55 jobs, officials said today.

Privately held ERMC has purchased U.S. Cavalry, a Kentucky company that sells tactical apparel and equipment for military and law enforcement professionals, according to officials at the Mayors Business Breakfast held by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.

Plans are to invest about $3.7 million in the business, including the renovation an existing building in Alton Park that formerly held Big Horn Saddle. That structure will become U.S. Cavalry's new home office.

ERMC carries out surveillance and monitoring, security, building maintenance, and janitorial services.Emerson Russell, founder of ERMC, said recently that the company has 6,600 employees in 46 states.
