Thunderstorms moving into Chattanooga area ahead of tonight's Riverbend activities

Dark gray clouds, with some flashes of lightning, are moving through the area this afternoon as the National Weather Service is forecasting a 50 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms.

Into the evening and night, a continued 50 percent chance for showers and storms before midnight is expected with a slight chance of showers after that, and patchy fog after 3 a.m.

The NWS is reporting patchy fog until 9 a.m. Friday, which will be mostly cloudy with a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms through the day.
