Hamilton County Commissioners today voted to approve Mayor Jim Coppinger's fourth budget, with no debate.
The $672.5 million budget includes a 2.5 percent raise for all county employees, eight new officers at the county jail and 30 more patrol cars - all with no tax increase.
And $399 million of that pie will go to county schools, which is a $5.5 million increase over last year. But the increase to school is only what the education department is due through property tax growth.
Commissioners had nothing but praise for Coppinger and county staff. The vote passed unanimously.
