Police identify two 13-year-old boys found dead at TN state park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A sheriff has released the identities of two 13-year-old boys who drowned at Cummins Falls State Park.

The Tennessean reports D'Donta Gray and KeyVonte Cunningham, both of Nashville, drowned Friday. Sheriff Brad Stafford says more details will be released after police receive autopsy reports.

Kelly Brockman, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, has said divers recovered the bodies on Saturday.

"It's a fairly well-known swimming area," Brockman said, "... but it is a 'swim at your own risk' area."

The boys were part of a group of 39 children who went to the park with Backfield in Motion, a Nashville-based group that works with inner-city children.

James "Boots" Donnelly, CEO of Backfield in Motion, said four adults from that organization and five chaperones from Great Outdoors University, which organized the trip, were present.

The park in Jackson County features Cummins Falls, a 75-foot waterfall located on the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River.

The deaths remain under investigation by the Department of Children's Services, state park police and Jackson County police.
