A Peregrine Falcon is missing from the American Eagle Foundation's "weathering yard" in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and officials are asking for help to locate it.
The falcon got loose around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
The falcon is named Scimitar and is reportedly a well-trained and gentle education bird.
The American Eagle Foundation is asking residents southwest of Sevier County to keep their eyes peeled for this medium-sized falcon, as it is believed that Scimitar is headed in that direction.
Scimitar has a grayish-black head, a dark blue-gray back, a small beak, and white and black bars across her chest and under her wings. Scimitar's most important distinguishing factor will be the leather falconry straps attached to her ankles.
