Peregrine FalconA Peregrine Falcon is missing from the American Eagle Foundation's "weathering yard" in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and officials are asking for help to locate it.
The falcon got loose around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
The falcon is named Scimitar and is reportedly a well-trained and gentle education bird.
The American Eagle Foundation is asking residents southwest of Sevier County to keep their eyes peeled for this medium-sized falcon, as it is believed that Scimitar is headed in that direction.
Scimitar has a grayish-black head, a dark blue-gray back, a small beak, and white and black bars across her chest and under her wings. Scimitar's most important distinguishing factor will be the leather falconry straps attached to her ankles.
