East Ridge police search for gunman

East Ridge police are looking for a man they say fired several shots at three people standing around a car in an alley next to 3302 Navajo Drive on Tuesday.

Officers went to the area of Frawley Street and South Germantown Road where a Chattanooga police officer had been flagged down by the victims, a news release from the East Ridge Police Department stated.

Police were told a light-skinned black man wearing a gray hoodie approached a group of people in the alley - four were in a parked vehicle and three were standing around the vehicle. The suspect fired a handgun multiple times, police said.

None of the victims was struck. They ran away.

Police learned the suspect left the area but do not know in which direction or whether he was on foot or in a vehicle.

Members of the East Ridge Police Department's criminal investigation division are working on the incident.
