ATLANTA - Georgia lawmakers still have some tough issues to tackle on the final day of the 2014 legislative session.
The state House and Senate will adjourn for the year tonight. Before their midnight deadline, lawmakers will have to decide whether to let Georgians with licenses carry guns into bars and churches, whether to allow some medical marijuana use by patients with cancer, glaucoma and some seizure disorders and how to overhaul the state's child welfare system.
The Legislature has pushed through the 40-day session quickly so that lawmakers can leave the Capitol and hit the campaign trail. Legislators are prohibited from raising money during the session, and Georgia primaries come early this year on May 20.
