One of the country's largest climbing gyms is going to get even bigger.

High Point Climbing and Fitness, the flagship tenant in Chattanooga's new downtown entertainment center, The Block, is adding a 3,000 square foot climbing gym for children to its already sprawling facility on Broad Street, company owners announced today.

Called 'Funtopia,' the children's section will feature special obstacles and climbing walls built solely for kids. Funtopia will be connected to High Point's main gym but will also have a separate entry on Chestnut Street.

High Point partner John Wiygul said he hopes the Chestnut Street entrance will pull families from the nearby Creative Discovery Museum.

The expansion will fill up the remaining open space in the $7.5 million development, which includes tenants Rock/Creek and Chattz Coffee.
