The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced today that normal traffic flow has been restored on the B.B. Comer Bridge which carries the southbound traffic of State Route 35, near Scottsboro.
Traffic was rerouted while the old bridge received its annual inspection, officials said in a release.
The southbound lanes over the bridge had been detoured to a single northbound lane on State Route 35 on the Bob Jones Bridge, alongside the older span.
The two-way traffic pattern was expected to remain in place until Friday, but ALDOT crews worked hard to complete the inspection and return traffic flow to normal ahead of schedule, officials said.
