Dalton police seek information in BB gun vandalism incidents

The Dalton Police Department is asking the public to help investigators looking into a series of recent incidences of vandalism, a news release states.

The crimes in the Underwood Street area left cars with dents or broken windows, police said.

More than 15 cases have been reported since March 8, about half of those occurring that weekend and the others over the weekend of March 29. A BB gun or pellet gun was used to shoot the cars parked along the streets in neighborhoods off of Underwood Street, police said.

Investigators do not believe that these incidents are connected to a series of BB gun shootings last summer that left dozens of businesses with shattered windows.

Anyone with information on the shootings may call Detective Jason Bishop at 706-278-9085, extension 214.
