With a wide margin, Pam McNutt Fleenor has won the race for an open chancellor seat in Hamilton County Chancery Court Part 1.

With all precincts reporting, Fleenor had 11,297 votes, while Republican opponent Joe Manuel had 4,438 votes in the Republican primary.

With no Democratic challenger, Fleenor will replace Chancellor Frank Brown III, who announced last year that he would not seek another term.

Fleenor, 54, began practicing law in 1986 and worked in areas such as personal injury, civil rights violations, employment defense, breach of contract and complex commercial litigation.

Jeffrey M. Atherton, who is the incumbent chancellor in Hamilton County Chancery Court Part 2, is running unopposed in this year's election.
