The identities of the victim and suspect in the shooting Wednesday in Sequatchie County have been released.
The victim is 28-year-old Chris Sims, who lives at the home on Bostontown Road, north of Dunlap, where the shooting happened, according to Sequatchie County Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock.
James Stockwell, 24, of Dunlap, is charged in the shooting with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, Hitchcock said.
Sims underwent surgery today for multiple gunshot wounds to his legs from a .45-caliber 'Uzi," suspected of being fully-automatic, Hitchcock said.
No charges will be filed in connection with the type of weapon used until testing confirms it is a fully-automatic Uzi, the sheriff said.
