ATV riders find woman's body on dirt road southwest of Atlanta

PALMETTO, Ga. - Authorities are trying to learn how a woman died after two people riding all-terrain vehicles found her body on a dirt road southwest of Atlanta.

CBS Atlanta reports that a man and his grandson discovered the body while riding four-wheelers in the Palmetto area of south Fulton County around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Police Sgt. Lee Gragg said there were signs of trauma. He said it appears the woman had been dead no longer than an hour before her body was discovered.

Police said there are no missing person reports in the area that fit the woman's description. She was described as a black woman in her 40s or 50s.

The body will be taken to the GBI for an autopsy.
