Early Georgia primary results show that Dade County voters overwhelmingly approve of a one-cent sales tax to be used for $13.6 million worth of improvements including buying emergency vehicles and fixing up the county library.

A proposal to renew the special purpose local option sales tax for another six years had 64 percent approval, with 596 votes in favor and 342 opposed.

Early results released at 8:30 p.m. today don't include any of votes cast at the county's seven voting precincts. The Times Free Press will post more results as they become available.
