KNOXVILLE - A convicted child rapist who won a retrial pleaded guilty Tuesday.

Jayson Michael Bailey was convicted in 2010 of raping his stepdaughter from the time she turned 11 to the time she turned 13. He won a new trial in 2012 courtesy of the resignation and conviction of Richard Baumgartner, the pill-addicted Knox County Criminal Court judge who presided over the trial and failed to confirm the verdict under Tennessee's 13th juror rule.

Bailey was initially sentenced to 38 years in prison on his first conviction. His guilty plea Tuesday netted a total sentence of 34 years, said his lawyer, Gregory P. Isaacs.
