The Whitfield County Grand Jury indicted a 21-year-old Detroit woman this afternoon on a murder charge.

Skyy Raven Marie Mims, 21, of Detroit, was arrested two months ago after police say she stabbed a Dalton convenience store clerk, killing the man. On Thursday, the grand jury also indicted Mims for aggravated assault, armed robbery, burglary, possession of a weapon while committing a crime and bringing stolen property into the state.

Mims, an aspiring rapper, dancer and model, came to Atlanta to further her professional career. But within weeks of coming to Georgia, police say, she murdered Dahyabhai Kalidas Chaudhari and stole cash and lottery tickets from the Kanku's Express convenience store, located at 3385 Airport Road in Dalton.

Mims' case drew national attention and has sparked online protests from her friends and family in Detroit, who claim she is innocent.
