UPDATE: Train splits tractor trailer in half in Trenton, Ga.

A 90-car train carrying coal to a power plant in Columbia, Ala. struck a tractor trailer at the Harris Road crossing around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Norfolk Southern officials.

There were no injuries, and authorities are investigating what caused the accident.

The train had not been given permission to move as of 7 p.m., though the call was expected within the half hour.

The train originated in Princeton, Ind. and was carrying 90 full cars of coal at the time of the accident.

Dade County Executive Ted Rumley said the train sliced through the bed of the truck, splitting the vehicle in half and spilling piles of pallets on the ground.

Nobody was injured in the crash, according to a 911 dispatcher.

"He's just shook up real bad," Rumley said of the truck driver.
