A Hamilton County grand jury Wednesday returned two indictments for attempted first-degree murder against Michael Shavers, the man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend near a Lookout Valley Waffle House on Feb. 11.

Shavers, 21, went on the run after police say he shot Ashley Harris, 22, and Joshua Maples, 25, as they left the Waffle House on Cummings Highway. Shavers was found hiding out in a Trenton, Ga., cave later that day.

Shavers is scheduled to be arraigned by Judge Rebecca Stern on April 10.

It's been just over a week since a judge withdrew a $525,000 bond for Shavers' 16-year-old brother, Jacob Allison. Allison is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the April 2014 shootings of John "Jake" Lang, Caleb Boozer and Jon E. Morris.

Allison was the only one of three men charged in that case who was out on bond. But on March 16, Allison was stopped by Alabama deputies and fled from a DUI check. He apparently was coming back from a weekend at a Florida beach.

He was charged with eluding and reckless endangerment, and Judge Barry Steelman withdrew his bond March 24.

He was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear before the judge again April 23.
