Recruits in Chattanooga's fire academy burned a 119-year-old two-story farmhouse to the ground to practice techniques learned in the course of their training.

At its peak, the heat was measured at 1,900 degrees with a thermal imaging camera.

The house, which was deemed beyond repair by its owners, was donated as a gift to help train the class of 21 recruits.
