An Oak Ridge police officer who was a standout running back for the Vanderbilt football team has been fired and is under investigation for the statutory rape of a 16-year-old girl while he was on duty.
Cassen Jackson-Garrison was fired Saturday morning after an investigation that began Thursday afternoon, went throughout the night, and led to him being first suspended and then terminated.
The alleged rape of the girl occurred "within the last month or two," District Attorney General Dave Clark said, and there may have been more than one incident.
