A criminal court judge today revoked and nearly tripled the bond for an ex-jailer who is accused of dressing up as a doctor and stealing drugs from Chattanooga hospitals - days after after the man was arrested again last week.

Ryan Epperson, 26, was initially arrested in May and charged with stealing medication from local hospitals, then was released on a $93,000 bond. But he was arrested again on Wednesday after police say he snuck into Erlanger once again and attempted to steal medication.

Today, his bond was raised to $253,500.

Police say Epperson snuck into Erlanger East on Aug. 15 and Erlanger's downtown campus Aug. 18 - despite the fact that he was out on bond from charges stemming from a May incident. In May, Epperson was caught wandering Erlanger's surgical suite with six vials of the painkiller Demerol in his pocket and was arrested.

Epperson was charged with six counts of drugs for resale, two counts of vandalism, two counts of theft, one count of criminal trespassing and one count of impersonation of a licensed professional in the May incidents.

After his arrest on Wednesday, Epperson faces more than 30 new charges, including burglary, vandalism, theft and aggravated trespassing.
