Chattanooga crushes Nashville in 'Top Towns' competition

Chattanoogans who love their town still have time to widen Chattanooga's slight edge over Knoxville for the title of Top Town in Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine's online contest.

As of Saturday night, Chattanooga had 51.8 percent of the vote to Knoxville's 48.2 percent for the title of Top Town. Voting for the Blue Ridge Outdoors contest ends Monday at 9 a.m.

Chattanooga previously beat Nashville in the early rounds of the competition run by the magazine.

The winner of this round will face either Virginia Beach, Va., or Charleston, W. Va., in the finals.

One other Tennessee city has moved forward in the contest. Johnson City is competing against Asheville, N.C., in the medium towns category.

The winning towns will be featured in the November issue of the publication.
