Police have identified the mom shot while driving in Chattanooga the day after Thanksgiving.

Authorities say 20-year-old Entwadina Phillips had a child in the car with her when she was shot in the face in the 2500 block of O'Rear Street just after 9 p.m. Friday.

She lost control of the vehicle, crashed, and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The child got into an ambulance but did not appear to be wounded. The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution for observation only, according to the police department.

Police were using flashlights searching the ground on the yard near where they had taped off the intersection. One neighbor heard eight or nine gunshots.

"We can't find a crime scene," Lt. Roger Gibbens said. "So we're unclear as to exactly where the gunshots came from, or whether or not this victim was the intended target."

"Unless we find a witness who tells us exactly where the people were standing, or the person was standing, who was firing a weapon, we have no idea," Gibbens said. "[Police] Crime Scene can figure it out after a while, but we can only kind of conjecture."

No suspect has been arrested in the case.

Phillips was one of two moms shot in Chattanooga on Thanksgiving week. Monica McMillon was killed in a drive-by in Alton Park.
