A driver who was fleeing from a Bradley County deputy early Monday afternoon died after she collided with another vehicle at an intersection.
Jessica Rogers, 31, of Cleveland, collided with a Jeep driven by a 16-year-old at the intersection of Randolph Samples Road and Bates Pike just before 1:30 p.m., according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Rogers' vehicle flipped off the road and she died from the injuries.
The 16-year-old's Jeep was flipped on its top in the middle of the intersection. The teenager suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.
The report indicates that authorities believe Rogers may have been using drugs.
The deputy who was in pursuit of her had stopped at a Pilot Gas Station on U.S. 64, where Rogers was parked at a gas pump.
"(Rogers) became irate and appeared to be having either a medical condition or mental disturbance and then left the scene," the report reads. "The Bradley County deputy then attempted to stop (Rogers)."
But she did not stop.
The report said Rogers topped a hill at "a high rate of speed" and lost control of her car, going into the west bound lane, where she collided with the Jeep that was stationary at the stop sign.
The deputy was about a half mile behind Rogers when the crash happened, according to the report.
A drug and alcohol test has been requested for Rogers.
