Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information in the high-profile 1997 double-homicide of Chattanooga brothers Sean and Donnie Goetcheus, District Attorney Neal Pinkston annouced Thursday.

Investigators with the county's new cold case division reopened the case last year and have uncovered significant new leads, Pinkson said in December.

The brothers were shot execution-style in their Brainerd home on Jan. 9, 1997.

On that night, the killer shot Sean once in the head as he stood in the kitchen of his home on Rosemont Drive, then kicked in the door to a bathroom and shot Donny twice. Sean Goetcheus was 25 years old and Donny was 19.

The reward will be given for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who murdered the brothers.

Anyone with information about the Goetcheus case is asked to contact the cold case unit at 423-209-7470 or at coldcases@hcdatn.org.
