Two police officers were trying to arrange future aid Wednesday for a 78-year-old Knoxville woman who called E-911 for help because she had only a half-jar of peanut butter left to eat.

The woman called the E-911 Center on Tuesday afternoon after deciding she didn't know who else to call.

"The woman told officers that she waited so long to call for assistance because she did not want to be a burden to anyone and that she did not know who else to call," according to a Knoxville Police Department news release.
