The Chattanooga City Council has passed a long-debated bill to allow rideshare companies such as Uber to operate in the city.
The second reading of the ordinance passed 7-1. Only Councilman Yusuf Hakeem voted against the measure. Councilman Russell Gilbert abstained.
The ordinance goes into effect in one month.
