The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added 17-year-old Cortez Sims, the suspect in Wednesday's deadly Chattanooga apartment shooting, to its list of Top 10 Most Wanted, the agency announced Thursday.
Police believe Sims opened fire inside a College Hill Courts apartment around 1 a.m. Wednesday. A 20-year-old woman, Talitha Bowman, was killed during the attack and a 1-year-old girl was critically wounded.
Two other adults were wounded but survived. They identified Sims as the shooter. He is wanted for first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Sims is a known gang member with a long history of gang activity who goes by the name "AWAX," police said.
