A Tennessee state trooper arrested three men on drug charges earlier this week after stopping their vehicle for speeding in Coffee County.

Trooper Donnie Clark stopped the vehicle Tuesday afternoon heading west on Interstate 24. Clark "observed several indications of possible criminal activity." The driver, Alphonso Mucker, 27, of Hardinsburg, Ky., denied Clark's request to search the vehicle, so Clark had Trooper Brent McCawley come to the scene with his narcotics-detecting K-9. After the K-9 responded positively while sniffing the vehicle, Mucker and the other two occupants, Michael Tompkins, 37, also of Hardinsburg, and Christopher Graham, 31, of Webster, Ky., were removed from the vehicle and detained.

During the search of the vehicle, Clark found more than half a pound of "Ice" crystal methamphetamine inside the glove compartment. A further search yielded a 20-gram bag of "Ice," 2 ounces of marijuana, five meth pipes, three marijuana pipes, marijuana grinders, digital scales, several plastic bags, $1,093 in cash, and a loaded 9-mm handgun.
